Senior Consultant Data Migration

As a Data Migration Consultant, you will support and guide Focus Enterprise Solutions clients to become more data-driven. You will serve clients in a wide range of diverse sectors where your focus is on increasing the importance of data governance, data migration and integration, data quality and metadata management. In addition, you will support a variety of organisations in the field of data management by forming data strategies, setting up data management processes or forming Target Operating Models.

You will need to be a real expert, who can provide training and workshops to his/her clients, but also contribute to knowledge enhancement within the rest of the team. We do this through knowledge sessions and other team activities. You will also be responsible for delivering and presenting parts of migration projects.

Roughly speaking, your time allocation is as follows:

• 80% customer projects and support
• 10% Knowledge building and administration
• 10% Consultation with colleagues

Your agenda is diverse. In your work, you are continuously working with our clients to shape a data strategy, data management processes. You discuss various stumbling blocks and challenges and translate them into efficient solutions within Finance and Supply Chain Management. In addition, you support colleagues in incidents, changes and release management at our customers.

During the less busy days, you are busy preparing for a Microsoft exam. The certification for this has to be renewed every two years, which takes up quite a lot of your time. And of course you also make time to catch up with colleagues, exchange knowledge and occasionally have a drink together.

“A client has chosen to migrate the current ERP system from SAP to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, taking historical data with it. How do you approach this?”

You contact the customer to get a thorough picture of the customer’s need and requirements. On this basis, you and the customer put down on paper what the data migration plan will look like. You analyse which bottlenecks and problems may arise and draw up an action plan. You make this as clear as possible and then explain it to the client. You do this with the client’s Consultant or IT department, so that you can draw up a suitable working method together. Afterwards, you will refine the working method and discuss it with the client and the project team, until the final plan of action (migration plan) is in place. Then you yourself – or a Consultant – carry out the migration. Think of test migrations support in drawing up test cases and migration scripts.

• HBO / WO working and thinking level;
• You have at least three to five years of experience in data migration and/or integration;
• You have a demonstrable affinity with ERP systems such as SAP/Microsoft and any migration tooling;
• You have an analytical and critical view;
• You are a good listener and understand business processes;
• Good command of the Dutch language;
• You have excellent communication skills;
• Great sense of responsibility;
• You have the desire to work in various multidisciplinary teams;
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues.
